a friend of mine died.. she was a troubled soul.. always wanting to be accepted,, she just never understood that she was..the poem below is one that she wrote just before her death.. I believe that she found the peace she so wanted in life..
I will miss her.. deeply.
I Surrender
I pray alone on the
mountain tops of night.
It is so calm, so still. All is dark; yet coming closer and closer
to me is a robe of great brilliance.
I close my eyes in fear. It's the full sun.
He stops before me,
dazzling, dancing.
His presence pierces through my whole being yet consuming me not.
I kiss the earth before
brilliance. I let go and fly to ecstasy.
Oh, God, before such beauty I Surrender!

ReplyDeleteI think I understand what your friend felt, Hope.
ReplyDeleteYour loss is great, but please know that she is at peace. I truly believe that some of us weren't meant to find the happiness your friend hoped for; our task is to discover another kind and to devote ourselves to it completely.
I find my greatest happiness in writing and am content with that.
*offers a nice, long hug*
