Sometimes in life its really hard to have faith, or trust. Its hard at times to realize that there are others suffering just as we might be. When we are children we enjoy each day. We wonder at the beauty of life. and are filled with wondrous expectations.
We all know how fragile a baby is. We instinctively handle babies with care. Even most animals treat babies with care. When is the time where this changes? When we are no longer handled with care.
Is it when we become teens? Is it when we reach adulthood? When does this turning point begin?
Perhaps if we treated everyone as fine crystal, knowing just how fragile it is. The world would be a nicer place. Perhaps if we stood outside of our selves, and saw the impact of our words or expressions have on others. We would realize just how fragile each and every one of us are and will always be.
we have been given 10 commandments.. to live by.. we fail miserably.
.but we keep trying to live according to what those commandments teach..
. but we tend to forget the most important of all..
Jesus said.." I have come to give you a new commandment.. and that is "TO LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOU LOVE YOUR SELF"
Do we heed that message?
I fear not..
if we did.. then we would not have the unrest that causes such pain..
we would not be fearful of anothers belief's.. or life style..
instead we would acept our neighbors for who they are and where they are in life..
we would give them a helping hand filled with wisdom and compassion for them to carry with them..upon their journey..
rather than making their journey burdendsome.. filled with anger and mistrust.
God also tells us NOT TO JUDGE.. for he is the judge in all things..
perhaps it time to do some soul searching.. perhaps it time to get on ones knees and pray.
then .. to really "listen" to the message that our creator is trying to give us..
don't ya think??
Guandi tells us that we must be the change we seek..
so today I light a candle for GOD"S TRUTH TO BE KNOWN.. to be followed.. to become the main force in all of our lives.. let TRUTH reign.. allow it to penatrate into the darkest part of ones soul.. then watch as it flys upward and on ward through out the earth..
.

Dear Hope,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing your thoughts with us today. I only wish that everyone would not only take these precepts to heart but also apply them in their day to day lives. But try as we might, it is very difficult in these times in which we live. There are many distractions and stumbling blocks along this journey we call life but perhaps if we all simply tried a little harder, starting in our own 'backyards' with a shift in the way we live our lives and our acceptance of others ways, some much needed change could occur. The gift of life is too precious to waste on anger, fear and discontent.
Wishing you a peaceful weekend,
Bob
Life is a funny thing, sometimes it seems as tough as stone and flexible enough to withstand anything while at other times it seems it can be snuffed out at the slightest breeze. The things God gives us are principles to live by to be sure but none of us are perfect this is what grace is for. It's easier for me to have mercy on other's shortcomings when I realize I have plenty of my own. The worst sin in my opinion is to give up. Pushing toward the high mark of the calling God has for us I believe is the key no matter what. Without faith it's impossible to please Him...when do we need faith? When it's not so easy this is when faith shines the most! Bless you Hope...you are well named!
ReplyDeleteHello Hope,
ReplyDeletethank you for this blog, yes soul searching is needed. As for when we stop being treated as fragile, I think it is probably as soon as a child goes to school, out into the word, they get bullied. they have to fend for themselves to a large extent and they realise that not everyone is very nice, faith can be tested as a child and as a parent, but we need to remember God loves us all. dont think I have put this very well, but hope you will know what I mean. Hugs Nita.
your photo is such a good reminder to be a light in the world ...
ReplyDeleteLovely image! Thanks for your words.
ReplyDeleteLovely thoughts. I pray for them to be so.
ReplyDeleteA message that bears repeating. There is a powerful force at work in the world trying to snuff that candle of hope out - but he has already been defeated.
ReplyDeletevery inspiriing words, and all true. if we could but follow that one commandment all the others would fall into place with no problem. the candle is beautiful, thanks for lighting it for us.
ReplyDeleteHope, you bring balance into my life. You are calm, centered, so attuned to love of God; I am restless, reactionary, always asking questions, fighting injustice like some well-meaning super hero.
ReplyDeleteI doubt that I will ever be able to calm my mind, but I can promise you my heart will always seek light, compassion, and justice.
I have known what it is to be bullied; as long as I see others being bullied in any way, I'll speak out against it and demand that the bullies be held accountable.
When I need to find peace, calm, and hope (again, your name is so appropriate, sis...) I will always come back to you and find my own center once more.
I love you very much, my sister-by-choice.
Your candle is a wonderful reminder of how our light should shine with a soft glow. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and reminding us of the things we should think of more often. Have a wonderful week. Hugs Carrie
